Review:

Nathan and Derrik have shared women since college without a problem. That changes when Bethany, an intriguing woman with a history of abuse joins Derrik's father's group of beauties. They watch her for years, waiting for her to grow up and regain the confidence her step-father's abuse stole from her. Happy being a photographer and doing what she loves, Bethany doesn't necessarily want a man but finds herself ensnared by two who have been her friends long enough for her to trust them. When the two men's friendship is strained by their feelings for her, she takes matters into her own hands and demands the relationship she's afraid of but can't seem to live without.

I love the play on words in the title. It's one of my favorite things about the story. It starts slow though there is no shortage of action or sex, just a little predictable until the end when the ménage finally comes together. Then Ms. Michaels turns the heat right up and the slow start becomes an afterthought. I give Shutter three smacks because the plot did take some set up and made it a little slow, but I add another half a smack for the last ménage scenes because they were pretty fantastic and made it well worth the wait.

Review:

FlipSide Erotica is a collection of short erotica stories. The author claims that some of these stories actually happened to him, some are his imagination and the rest are stories that did happen, but he changed the facts to fit how he wished things had happened.

This book is not considered an erotic romance. This is a book about sex, sex and more sex. It’s really like reading porn. A way to get your fix, so to say. I would not recommend this book to a romance fan. The stories are told in first person and really seem amateur, this book was not what I had originally thought it was. The one thing I did like was how the stories are first told in the woman’s perspective and then the man’s perspective. Although as a woman, one who appreciates sex, and erotic romance, I just could not see any solid foundation with this writing. Apparently this author is working on a second volume…maybe it will be better than this one! If you are looking to read short stories all in the 1st person, and practically reading porn than this is a book for you! But if you are looking for stories that involve emotion and everyday life with hot sex mixed in this book is not for you.

Stavros and Caine love their mate, the human princess that completes them but while political unrest grows, so does the pressure to make her a werewolf, like them. Stavros is all for making Abigail one of them and can't understand why Caine insists on waiting. Worse, his brother is beginning to pull back from the relationship and making Abigail fear they no longer want her.Caine's issue is submission. To be a wolf, the human princess they adore will first have to submit to their will. It is imperative if she is to make the change and be safe from the volatile female wolf she could become. Caine loves her, but fears hurting her in the steps necessary to make her their mate forever. A born submissive, Abigail must change his mind.

I had a heck of a time leaving my computer once I started reading The Wolves' Submissive. It is a short story and in a different sort of reality but Ava Rose Johnson keeps to the important issues at hand and like I said, I couldn't look away. The sex scenes are hot and rough but always affectionate. Once the submission training starts there's even more love between the three and I'm glad there were some things left undone because I want to read more as soon as possible. I give The Wolves' Submissive five smacks. You should read it and tomorrow is probably a good day.

Review:

The Price Of submission is a wonderful read about trust and love. A woman who knows nothing about the lifestyle of BDSM has signed herself over for a year into the care of a millionaire who wants to keep her as a submissive. As the story progresses Misty learns about herself and what she may enjoy in the bedroom. She grows from a young naive girl into a woman who knows just what it is that she wants. Garron a tycoon who has never felt deeply for anyone before, begins to be enthralled with Misty after having her in his life for only a short time. As they come together the adventures begin.

Misty’s waitressing job falls through and not wanting to go back to live with her mother she decides to talk to her former boss Travis about an offer from his best friend Garron. The tycoon is looking for a woman to be his submissive for a year. She tours a sex club with Travis and even tries a night as a submissive for Garron before making her final decision. Misty finds that she is turned on by the things that she sees and is also curious about the lifestyle in all. So she decides to sign a contract to be Garrons submissive for a year. Misty has baggage of her own to deal with as well as that of learning what being a submissive is all about. She must open herself up to Garron and learn to trust him. Misty tries to keep her heart guarded but begins to have feelings for Garron. Garron starts to have feelings of his own for Misty as well but he himself is confused over this turn of events. Never before has he felt this strongly for a submissive. While Misty and Garron are trying to figure out just what their relationship is bad things keep happening to Misty. Can both Misty and Garron let their love grow and trust each other? Can they figure out just who is out to get Misty before it is too late?

This book had me glued to the pages trying to figure out just what was going to happen next. It is a great flowing book full of twists that I never saw coming. I enjoyed the friendship that Misty and Garron developed and the love that grew as the story went on was a beautiful thing. Watching Misty come into her own was a great thing to see and the scene in the playroom where Misty welcomes and begins to enjoy her feelings for both Travis and Garron is a great read.

Michelle Cary did a wonderful job with this book. She has brought a lot of depth into her characters and the mystery she brought to the story only enhanced the enjoyment of the book.I truly enjoyed this story and will defiantly be looking for more reads from this author.

Review:

When you play with Fyre, you just might get burned. Raelyn Borne has a fiery passion to save her home. Unfortunately, lawyer Logan Fyre, is as ruthless an opponent as they come. With him, she can’t bribe or threaten her way out of this one. When backed into a corner, Raelyn has a tendency to get sassy. And now she's desperate enough to enter into a dangerous game with Logan. Does she have the strength to play with Fyre -- without getting burned?

This was a very spicy read. I couldn’t put this book down until I finished it. Ms. Carter knows how to capture her reader’s attention and keep them involved in the story until the last page. The only bad thing about this story is that it ended. But the characters, Raelyn and Logan were so believable. The author made them seem like real people. I felt like I knew them from the first few pages. I wanted nothing more than those two to find happiness together and have their happily-ever-after. You want nothing but the best for them. Also the plot wasn’t something you read all the time, but it was believable. I could actually believe what the characters were going through. I could believe their feelings, dilemmas and love. The book is heavy in passion and sex, but there is love and respect as well. It’s a story I highly recommend to all romance lovers.

Nice Girls Do by Michelle Miles

Title: Nice Girls Do

Author: Michelle Miles

Publisher: Samhain Publishing

Published date: November 2007

ISBN: 1-59998-681-7

Genre/Theme: Contemporary

Length: 139 pages

Even nice girls can be bad…

Cara Davis wants to be a nice girl. She really does. So she quits her job at the strip club and takes on a job at The Bitter End coffee shop. She even dates the owner’s very nice—and nice looking—son David. Mark Sawyer used to be bad, but now he’s mended his ways. He comes to The Bitter End to make amends with his mother, but his attempt is rebuffed by both her and his baby brother. Worse, David is dating the newest hire, a buxom blonde Mark is sure he’s seen somewhere before. He sets his sights on Cara with every intention of stealing her away. Sometimes it’s good to be bad, and who said turning over a new leaf was such a good idea, anyway? With the coffee house in danger of closing its doors forever, Cara and Mark team up to save the day. The only problem is, Cara can’t stop herself from falling in love with the bad boy. And damn it, she’s tried so hard to be good! Like good coffee, the longer Mark and Cara’s desire brews, the stronger it gets. And once their passion percolates, there’s sure to be plenty of steam…

Author Michelle Miles does it again, creating a rich story that makes you want to cheer. Cara Davis is gorgeous, smart and thoroughly likeable. Mark Sawyer is every girl’s fantasy man, right down to the sexy dimples. The fact that both of them are trying hard to make up for their less-than-stellar pasts is fun and heartwarming to watch. Between the hot sex and the tense emotions building between Cara and Mark, I got carried away by their story and was thrilled with a very satisfying ending. This is a definite must read for anyone who loves an erotic story but with lots of sweet elements.

Review:

When temptation walks through the door, it’s time to get rid of the rulebook.
Her assignment as an investigative journalist is to get the story on a sex resort, not sleep with her servant! But Kristine Olsen can’t stop wanting the sexy man assigned to her. She hasn’t counted on the unexpected feelings for Cole, and especially the story she uncovers.
When Cole Hunt spots the newest guest, he knows his week will be filled with more than just paperwork to close his resort. The blue-eyed beauty has branded him with her white-hot kisses. She’s keeping secrets, but will giving his heart to Kristine become his downfall when his resort is exposed?
Is breaking the rules worth it?

Phyllis Campbell has written a very pleasurable story with lots of steamy sexual encounters and plenty of passionate arguments between Cole and Kristine. The author had a way of giving us a very descriptive plot line without ever giving away to much information at one time. There are some authors who leave their usual writing style to try the erotica field. In my opinion, not many are able to make such a transition so easily. Ms. Campbell has found her niche. I think she should continue with more books in this genre. It’s as if she created erotica or it was invented just for her. Both characters are trying to pretend to be something other than what they are. Cole believes only women want him for his money because of his ex-wife. Kristine believes the resort is a place for sex! Can the two learn to trust each other to make this affair work or will their affair end?
This is a very steamy fast paced book that I believe any Phyllis Campbell fan will enjoy and I believe there will be many readers drawn to her other books as well. She’s an author you have to add to your must-read list, trust me you won’t be sorry!

Review:

While setting up for a charity art exhibit, sculptor Jacquie Taylor is nearly crushed by her giant urn, but she's saved thanks to gorgeous photographer Ethan Wolfe. The artist and red-blooded woman in Jacquie longs to explore his shape, but she's engaged to another man. Then her fiancé cheats, and all bets are off. Jacquie allows herself to indulge in Ethan's charms to drown her sorrows—a night so steamy and intense it leaves her breathless. But when Ethan wants more than one night of passion, Jacquie panics. How can she even think about letting another man into her life...and her heart?

New authors are my favorite. Especially those who have a story that flows really nicely. Kaia Logan will be celebrating her debut release on June 26, 2009. I imagine she’s excited and nervous. Well, Kaia, no need to be nervous, this story was exceptionally written and I’m sure it will do wonderful. The scenes were short and to the point, which I enjoyed. The characters were driven to one another from the very first instance, which is even better. I love when this happens because they know it, but they try to fight there feelings until the desire and passion overpowers them and bam, they have it out with one another…of course the sex is hot too! Jacquie is a strong female who knows what she wants. I love the power she has in a short amount of time. Both Jacquie and Ethan are characters that seem so real and you feel like you have become to know them by the end of this book. I cannot wait for more from this author! I am sure we are going to hear great things about her. Kaia Logan is one to add to your list and so is Sapphire Night.
